As the first company of the Galison Group, Galison Manufacturing was founded in 1977 as a small company supplying scraper runners. Over the years it has grown into a major manufacturer and supplier of rolling stock and mining equipment, including underground and surface freight wagons, transfer chutes, hoppers, scrapers, grizzlies and general steelwork. Galison Manufacturing is well equipped with modern machinery for heavy and medium fabrication and machining.

Galison Drilling was established in 1985, allowing us to add the supply of drill steel to our list of services. Over the years it has grown into a major supplier of drill steel to the gold mining industry. And today, adding to our wide range of high-quality drill steel and drill bits, Galison Drilling also supplies Rock Drills for use in development and in-stope drilling.

The newest addition to the Galison Group, Galnorth Drilling, was opened in 2008 in order to facilitate Galison’s growth into the platinum industry. We now supply a number of customers with quality drilling consumables in the Rustenburg area. Galnorth also acts as a base in Rustenburg for Galison Manufacturing.

Galison Zambia and Galison Drilling Zambia were opened in 2000 after the privatisation of the copper mines in Zambia. They now occupy two manufacturing and service sites in Kitwe and are the main manufacturers and suppliers of quality rolling stock and hand-held drilling equipment in Zambia.
